Who better to rip through the double bass classics from ’93 to ’97 than the human powerhouse who has driven The Living End’s famous rhythm section since its inception. \nThe distinctive slapping catgut of the double bass propelled The Whitlams onto the airwaves through the mid 90s\, from their debut “Gough” in 1993\, to the crossover hit “I Make Hamburgers” in 1995\, to the frenetic “You Sound Like Louis Burdett” in 1997. Scott Owen will join the band for the first hour of the show in which they will perform the best of “Introducing The Whitlams”\, “Undeniably The Whitlams” and “Eternal Nightcap”. \nThe Whitlams’ no. 1 “No Aphrodisiac” marked the band’s evolution onto electric bass\, with the reflective first half of the song being recorded on double bass\, and the second half on electric. At that pivotal moment Whitlams’ bassist Ian Peres will move from the Hammond organ onto bass and bring the show home with a string of the more recent hits like the ever relevant “Blow Up the Pokies”. \nThe Whitlams are Tim Freedman on piano and vocals\, Jak Housden on guitar\, Terepai Richmond on drums\, and newest member\, Ian Peres\, on Hammond organ and electric bass.

DESCRIPTION:Hot Rod Walt” aka Walt Richards\, was born in 1966. Lived the first half of his life in the very rural town of Beemerville New Jersey. Moved to North Port Florida in 1989. In 2006\,moved to the Atlanta area where the music scene is huge and the southern hospitality is overwhelming. Not only does he play guitar and sing in the Psycho-DeVilles\, but works on custom cars and motorcycles\, does hand pinstriping and really just about anything you can imagine on a car or bike. He even has hand pinstriped 342 official special edition “Hot Rod Walt” Gretsch Guitars. But over 500 in total. He also has a pretty cool car collection that includes a couple 51 mercs\, a  32 Ford And a 34 coupe the famed “Yellow Jacket” and several more….. And….he has a very cool wife named Sharlene. \nHot Rod Walt and the Psycho DeVilles was formed in 2002. They have released 10 CDs… “Out of the garage and onto the street”\, “Psycho Cadillac”\, “Supercharger”\, “Night Prowler”\, “Rockabilly Rodeo”\, “Country Gold”\, “Rock N Roll Life”\, “Motor Honey”\, “Swingin’ On the Moon”\, and “Rumble Road”. \nHe also takes great pride in being endorsed by Gretsch Guitars…….. Nothing else compares. \nHot Rod Walt shares the stage with two talented and loyal musicians……Burford T Ogletree on the Upright bass and Steve “Burnout” Barnett the hard hittin’ punk rock drummer that never runs out of energy. \nTogether the Psycho-DeVilles perform a super high energy show. Singing songs about hot rod cars and mean women … \nThe Psycho-DeVilles had the pleasure of being a part of many TV shows. \nIn 2010 “Auction Kings” on Discovery Channel.
