SUMMARY:Christine Anu Live!
DESCRIPTION:MBA & Offbeat present… \nCHRISTINE ANU & BAND\nwith special guest: Raku O’Gaia\nThe Hoey Moey\nWednesday 1st April 2026\nDoors 6pm\n \nGrab your tickets here before they’re gone! \nChristine Anu is one of Australia’s most popular recording artists and performers of all time\, who uses her voice and reputation to spread a message of unity and hope. With 17 ARIA nominations\, including the APRA AMCOS award-winning My Island Home and her platinum album Stylin’ Up\, she has one of the country’s most enduring and recognisable voices. \nHer acclaimed 27-year career spans all forms of media\, including music\, theatre\, dance\, film\, television\, radio\, children’s entertainment\, and one of the most influential keynote speakers. Her broad range of achievements includes platinum-selling solo albums\, acting in Hollywood blockbusters such as Moulin Rouge and The Matrix: Reloaded\, performing in hit sell-out musicals like Rent and Little Shop of Horrors\, and featuring roles in high-profile TV shows like The Alice and Outland. Over the years\, Christine has been central to several memorable historic moments\, with her performance of “My Island Home” at the Sydney 200 Olympics Closing Ceremony a notable standout. Many Australians consider Christine’s My Island Home as the unofficial Australian National Anthem \nChristine has and will always be proud of her Torres Strait Islander heritage and\, at any given opportunity\, will use her public profile as a platform to advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and others from marginalised backgrounds. Anu is a prominent voice of multicultural Australia and\, in 2016\, was appointed host of the ABC radio program and now presents her own national radio show on ABC Radio every Friday and Saturday. \nWhen speaking to Anu about her proudest career moments\, she speaks of becoming a mother to her two children and mentoring her now 18-year-old daughter Zipporah as an entertainer in her own right. Christine and Zipporah have naturally taken the stage together\, and in 201\,9 they performed at the Women’s NRL Grand Final. \nHer eagerly awaited album\, ‘Waku\,’ is a collaborative masterpiece produced by her long-time musical ally\, David Bridie.  ‘Waku’ unfolds as a poignant narrative\, delving into the stories of Anu’s culturally rich heritage.

SUMMARY:Old Mervs Live at the Hoey!
DESCRIPTION:Old Mervs\nwith special guests: Paint \nThe Hoey Moey\nSaturday 14th March\nDoors 7pm \nBUY YOUR TICKETS HERE NOW BEFORE THEY’RE GONE! \nOld Mervs will See You Around Town in 2026 \nWA duo Old Mervs are keen to see you around town next year. From Toowoomba to Torquay\, Dave and Henry will be stopping in to regional centres across Queensland\, New South Wales and Victoria in February and March\, belting out tracks from their 2025-released self-titled debut album and old favourites. Supports will be announced soon!  \nRiding a wave of wins\, Old Mervs are celebrating a massive 2025 after the success of their ARIA-Charting debut album release and sold-out tours across Australia\, the United States\, including Chicago’s Lollapalooza\, the UK and Europe.  \nWith a while between regional shows on the East Coast\, Old Mervs are stoked to see you ’round town soon. \nAbout Paint \nMade up of four friends from Fremantle\, Western Australia\, Paint played their first show in a living room in 2021\, fulfilling a pact between its members and setting the band into motion. They began to play local gigs and house parties more frequently and in 2023 after building a small local following\, they released their debut EP ‘Bugs\,’ a collection of shoegaze and slacker rock inspired songs that earned them extensive airplay on local radio RTRfm as well as support slots for touring acts such as Hockey Dad\, Narrow Head\, Fleshwater and Superchunk. \n2024 saw the band pick up momentum and their sophomore EP\, ‘Gift Shop’ was released. Written mostly on a week-long trip to Margaret River\, this project explored a wider variety of influences and sonics\, whilst still delivering the group’s signature brand of fuzzy pop that radiates blissful nostalgia and fun. ‘Gift Shop’ made waves in Australia\, being the local feature release on RTRfm\, listed in Rolling Stone Australia’s Best New Australian music and acclaimed by a number of Triple J presenters. It also gained international attention from The Line of Best Fit (UK) and was added to rotation on Seattle’s KEXP (USA). In February of 2025\, ‘Gift Shop’ peaked at 10 in North American College and Community Radio Top 200 Chart. \nIn the back half of 2025 and in support of their recent double single “Forever and Always\,” the band started playing interstate for the first time\, touring with Armlock in NSW in August and supporting Fool Nelson on 10 dates all over Australia in October. Paint was also awarded Best Rock Act at the 2025 WAM Awards.

SUMMARY:Cog Live at the Hoey!
DESCRIPTION:Nobody & Offbeat Presents \nCOG – Walk the Line Tour\nWith special guests:\nHeadsend + Flying Giant   \nSUN 21ST DEC\nTHE HOEY MOEY\nDOORS 5pm \nTickets on sale here! \nWith decades in their wake spanning chart successes\, touring with icons of the scene and growing an evergreen fanbase\, Sydney-hailing rock trio Cog‘s momentum has never waned\, withstanding industry shifts\, morphing technology\, and a hiatus all without ever losing their trademark vigour. \nRecently ticking off a largely sold out and extensive Australian tour in 2024\, along with releasing some of their material for the first time ever on vinyl\, it’s in 2025 that the trio ascend into a brand new chapter\, unveiling their first new music since 2019 with a brand new single\, Walk The Line\, as well as some brand new headline shows for November and December. \nVia Walk The Line\, the group’s first new song since the propulsive standalone track Drawn Together released six years ago\, Cog dazzle with buoyant soundscapes\, oscillating guitars\, driving drumwork\, and fluid basslines alongside the ever-commanding vocal stylings of Flynn Gower. \nAn immediate Cog classic with its raw yet blissful dynamic shifts\, Walk The Line finds the trio — vocalist Flynn\, bassist Luke Gower and drummer Lucius Borich — in their most assured form to date\, while also brandishing real-world undertones as Cog reflect on the realities of life as a musician in 2025\, as well as looking to what may come next. \n“Walk The Line expresses it all for us\,” shares Flynn. “Life for the three of us is fucking hard at the moment. The three of us individually are struggling to just survive and keep our heads above water. When you look at the work that goes into a song like this alone\, the cost and the general lack of return\, it’s all becoming almost impossible for us.” \n“Almost everyone I know is in the same boat\,” Flynn continues\, “they’re on struggle street\, scratching their heads and wondering how to survive. The microcosm of the music and arts industry in Australia has gotten especially tough\, and we’re all feeling the effects of that.” \n“As a band\, we are working on stuff\, we’re working towards other songs. But at this point in time we really don’t know what the future holds\, and we don’t know if this will be the last song. And that’s really what Walk The Line is all about at its core.” \nEmerging in the late 90s\, Cog‘s enduring legacy on the heavy music landscape has traversed decades\, global touring\, and a jubilant reunion back in 2016. Via their early EPs\, 2000s Pseudo\, and parts one and two of 2002’s Just Visiting\, the behemoth reputation of the Sydney-hailing trio would be firmly cemented in 2005 in the form of their debut full-length\, The New Normal. From here\, Cog took the world by storm\, relentlessly touring Australia\, embarking on overseas runs\, igniting stages at Big Day Out\, Falls Festival and Homebake\, alongside adding a stellar second album release to their repertoire in the form of the certified Gold 2008 opus Sharing Space. \nNever ones to rest on their laurels\, Cog emerged from a five-year hiatus in 2016\, with an entirely sold-out comeback tour across Australia that same year – and some new music soon followed in 2018 via the band’s first new material in a decade: The Middle. From here\, Cog have continued to expand their creative spirit\, releasing two additional singles\, Altered States and Drawn Together\, while also remaining active on the touring circuit\, including headlining The Other Festival and Thrashville in 2023. \nReaching a milestone in 2023\, Cog‘s long road to finally releasing their albums on vinyl spanned a 15-year uphill battle\, with the group locked into a contract and awaiting resolution ever since delivering Sharing Space to their label in 2008. And finally\, armed with complete ownership of the rights to all of their music\, the pressing of Cog‘s sonic legacy onto vinyl also sparked a huge headline run in 2024\, with the majority of shows sold out. \nhttps://music.youtube.com/watch?v=E6JmYBI0EnY&si=SOD_875f57b_8Gqv \nCOG – Walk the Line Tour Tickets at Hoey Moey Hotel (Coffs Harbour\, NSW) on Sunday\, 21 December 2025

One just being together. \nPop goes the culture! Like a stun to the head\, it leaves one careening across the highway of a never-ending invasion of cultural detritus… strewn across the landscape of your mind with blips and beeps and repetitive phases. \nForming late ‘93 in Brisbane\, core members Quan Yeomans and Ben Ely set off on a malformed trajectory of numerous EPs and albums recorded in idiosyncratic scenarios: TU-PLANG (1996) in the jungle outskirts of Bangkok; the pixel obsessed 80s jolt of UNIT (1997) in a condemned Fortitude Valley warehouse; …ART (1999) in a sun soaked Byron Bay beachside house; EDUARDO & RODRIGUEZ WAGE WAR ON T-WRECKS (2001) amidst the red bricks and cigar smoke of Andy Gill’s (Gang of Four) London house studio; MISHMASH (2004) in Melbourne’s Federation Square glass panopticon studio for the disruptive Band in a Bubble reality pastiche; LOVE & PARANOIA (2007) in a bullet riddled studio in Rio de Janeiro under the looming arms of Corcovado with a gang of dueling Brazilian sound engineers; SUPERHAPPYFUNTIMESFRIENDS (2011) in Ben’s old Melbourne Northcote shopfront; DIRTY POP FANTASY (2013) in the upper levels of a Hong Kong skyscraper apartment; the digital meta-virus that is HEADROXX (2018) fabricated over the internet; the recent cultural coloniser that is INVADER (2024). The past has trekked them live across Australia\, NZ\, Japan\, UK\, Europe\, USA\, Asia\, Middle East\, as much as an incessant barrage of festivals (Big Day Out\, Good Things\, Meredith\, Golden Plains\, Mona Foma\, Spring Loaded\, Clokenflap\, Reading\, Fuji Rock\, Groovin’ the Moo\, The Falls etc); tours with Boredoms\, Red Hot Chili Peppers\, Helmet\, The Melvins\, Weezer and KISS. Always drawn to the odd they collaborated: contemporary dance/live music project ‘Rock Show’; puppetry on Raised by Wolves at the Melbourne Fringe; a self-written live soundtrack to Japanese film AKIRA at the Sydney Opera House; performed the debut Velvet Underground album inconjunction with Chinese collaborator Mindy Meng Wang on guzheng; and the riotous kid fun of the POGOGO SHOW! Latest expedition to the peak mountain of sounds – 2024 heard the invasive notions of INVADER… now joined by Sarah Lim on keytar/guitar.

SUMMARY:Frenzal Rhomb Live at the Hoey!
DESCRIPTION:Blue Murder & Offbeat presents \nFrenzal Rhomb\n“A Man’s (Still) Not a Camel’ 25th Anniversary Tour”\nwith special guests: Purple Disturbance + No Quarter \nFriday 27th June\nHoey Moey\, Coffs Harbour\nDoors 7pm \nGRAB YOUR TIX HERE NOW! \n  \n2025 is an election year\, and for too long\, the major political parties have ignored the regions of this vast brown land. \nThat is why the FRPP (Frenzal Rhomb Political Party) has today announced\, on its 25th-ish anniversary\, a pledge to bring the songs of A Man’s Not A Camel into regional centres across Australia. \n“It is a failure of the major political parties and stain on the very history of this great nation\, that simply because you live outside of the major city centres\, for the last two and a half decades you have been deprived of sweet guitar riffs\, 90s slap bass\, sick drum beats\, and harmonised rhymes about beer. The FRPP’s A Man’s Not A Camelpaign pledges to end that drought and bring the songs of Frenzal Rhomb’s majestic\, iconic\, exalted album A Man’s Not A Camel BACK to regional Australia. \nWe will make sure no town* will ever again go without seeing songs like “Never Had So Much Fun”\, “We’re Going Out Tonight” and “You Are Not My Friend” as they were truly intended. Live\, loud\, and played by people 25-ish years older than when they were recorded. \nNo\, Frenzal Rhomb cannot balance the budget. Nor can we solve Australia’s housing crisis. We can’t even produce green carbon to get us to net zero (but then again\, no one can). But we CAN bring A Man’s Not A Camel to the beer-soaked stages of regional Australia. And you CAN trust us\, we’re the ones who told you that interesting historical fact about dinosaurs in song. Also\, it can’t be pork-barreling; none of us eat meat. \nVote 1: the FRPP and the A Man’s Not A Camelpaign.\n\nVITRUVIAN DROMEDARIES FOREVER! \nFrenzal Rhomb will be followed by DJ Panda from 10:30pm until late.
