When it comes to festivals Nathan has performed though out Australia opening up for international acts such as\, Anne Popovich\, Jon Cleary\, and Joe Louis Walker. \nGrowing up with Blues jazz and soul in the household\, Nathan has brought his own unique style to the table. Influenced by artist such as Ronnie Earl\, Albert Collins\, Guy King and Jimmie Vaughn Nathan plays from the soul with an “all killer no filler” approach. Nathans first band Blue Eyes cry was signed to Australia’s premier record company Black Market Music\, Nathan manage to hit no 1 on the Australian Blues and Roots Charts in the year of 2015\, also winning best new Talent at the Chain awards the same year. Dan creates an experience that could be described as Ash Grunwald\, Eric Bibb and Paul Kelly meeting down at the crossroads. This culminates in an emotionally driven journey down a sweetly plucked but often dirty slide guitar-borne road across the Southern blues idiom. \nWinner of the Australian Blues Music Festival Busking Contest in 2016 and Music Oz Awards Finalist in 2010\, back-to-back festival appearances at Port Macquarie’s Howling Moon festival in 2017 and 2018\, Dan’s dynamic fingerstyle blues has enlivened audiences for Kevin Borich\, Claude Hay\, Mal Eastic\, Hat Fitz and Cara\, Blues Arcadia\, Wendy Matthews\, Mental as Anything and Sydney Blues Challenge winner (2014) Darren Jack. \nDan’s smooth rich vocal tone\, his dynamic fingerstyle blues and dexterity on the slide guitar mixed with poignant lyrics create a highly versatile performer not to be missed. \nAs a Band\, Dan Hopkins and the Generous Few swing from sweet urban country blues fingerstyle to swampy lap slide guitar playing creating a smorgasbord of southern-style foot stomping folk\, roots and blues that is both authentic and emotionally honest. \nWith uplifting appraisals from Khris Mazinski (Jeff Lang)\, Paul Gommersall (Kate Bush; Paul Weller; Sinead O’Connor) and Richard Cartwright (Platinum Entertainment) Dan and his crew are definitely a roots act on the rise. \nDan has recently released his album ‘Different Economy\,’ to critical acclaim in his self-built solar-powered shipping container studio\, ‘The Blues Den.’ He also recorded the E.P Golden Girl at Soundshed Studios in 2010 and has released a single dedicated to the plight of Asylum Seekers called Think Twice with Syd Green which has received both JJJ and national airplay. As a solo artist\, her bluesy guitar\, harmonica and smoky piano playing are performed in a variety of styles from playful ditties to haunting ballads at intimate venues in Meanjin/Brisbane and beyond. \nClare released her debut album ‘To The Bottom’ and crowdfunded a tour in 2020 upon launching her singles ‘Like The Muse’ and ‘Black Seeds’. The folky sing-along ‘Song Material’\, released with Easy Machine Recordings in 2021\, was followed swiftly by the brooding single ‘My Reason’ and catchy ‘Need a Cuddle’ in 2022. DESCRIPTION:Enjoy live music with Sam Buckley from 6pm – 9pm at the Hoey Moey! \n\nOriginally from Barraganyatti\, on the Mid North Coast of NSW\, Sam Buckley lived in Sydney and Melbourne for the last 16 years performing in high-level bands. He toured internationally and performed at many music festivals in Australia. \nIn recent years\, he performed in Dreamboogie\, who were a highly polished and dynamic live Blues band\, led by charismatic singer Rebecca Davey. The band’s innovative sound incorporating electronic loops resulted in wins at the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society’s Blues Performer of the Year Challenge in 2016 and Band of the Year at the 2018 Victorian-Tasmanian Blues Awards. \nSam is currently embarking on his solo career and recording his debut album\, Blue Ocean\, with Lester Snell and Royal Studios in Memphis. This is a very exciting time and a privilege to be working with industry luminary Lester and the Stax players behind the success of artists such as Albert King and Al Green. Sam is sometimes called ‘Jimi Hendrix’ and ‘Stevie Ray-Vaughn’ – he is infamous for his electric guitar bends\, warm vibrant tone and roaring groove.
