The record is tinged with a who’s who of seasoned session players\, some who have played or recorded with the likes of Keith Richards\, Norah Jones\, Carol King\, Steve Earle\, Willie Nelson\, Ray Charles\, and Stevie Wonder to name but a few. \nDan kicked off 2015 playing on New Year’s Day at the Byron Bay Falls Festival as the winner of the Play Mullum & Falls Festival song competition for his track from the album ‘Payday’. The lead single ‘Lay Down Your Guns’ had the accompanying film clip officially selected to premiere at Byron Bay’s 2015 International Film Festival. Dan was then chosen to open for Grammy award-winning blues artist Charlie Musselwhite on his February 2015 Australian tour.  \n Dan has previously opened Australian tour shows for the likes of America’s Donavon Frankenreiter and Charlie Parr and also Australian icons such as Tex Perkins\, Pete Murray\, Black Sorrows and Mental as Anything. Hannaford has also showcased his talent at Australia’s premier Byron Bay Blues Festival being named on the bill alongside John Fogerty\, Cold Chisel and Crosby Stills & Nash with his single ‘Deeper Water’ included on the Bluesfest 2012 compilation album. \nDan’s first independent release Rust and Dust (2012) was recorded at the Hannaford family fishing shack\, ‘Hannarock’\, in Red Rock on the NSW North Coast with blues/folk musician and producer\, Mike McCarthy. It featured as album of the week on ABC Radio and their collaboration single ‘I’ve Gone Fishing’ also received major airplay on ABC Radio’s fishing show\, ‘The Big Fish’. \nDan Hannaford’s musical career began when he played on a Channel [V] music showcase in 2009 where he was spotted by record industry legend Seymour Stein who requested a demo. This led to the recording of the ‘Bootleg’ EP/demo in 2010. \nSince then Dan Hannaford has been busy playing hundreds of stages all around Australia\, including the Australian Blues Festival\, Gympie Country Muster\, National Folk Festival and Tamworth Country Music Festival. In 2015 he toured Europe to perform at The Summertime Blues Festival in Austria.

Influenced heavily by the pioneers of blues piano & Hammond organ\, Dillion’s powerful stage presence makes an instant impact. \nDillion released his full-length album ‘HEAVY KEYS’ in 2024. It reached #1 on the Australian Blues and Roots Airplay Charts. In January 2025\, the album was still in the top 20\, 12 months after its release. Heavy Keys was co-produced with his string-shredding older brother\, 8 Ball Aitken\, who also co-wrote four of the new songs. \n‘HEAVY KEYS’ features Melbourne drumming legend John Watson behind the kit and Mississippi-based saxophone legend ‘Buddy Leach’ (long-time member of George Thorogood & The Destroyers)\, who played most of the sax on the recording. A hand-picked cast of Brisbane’s finest blues musicians also played on the album. \nOver the last twenty years of gigging on the festival and blues circuit\, Dillion has re-birthed an energetic sound that encapsulates the tone of an earlier era. \nHis self-taught keyboard technique binds melody and rhythm together\, and like a real bluesman\, has paid his dues performing and perfecting his craft on the road and at the late-night gigs. \nDillion James won the 2010 BASEQ blues performer of the year award. Either with his own band or as a session musician\, Dillion has tickled the ivories on many of the biggest stages in Australian blues music. He has played at Byron Bluesfest\, Blues on Broadbeach\, Woodford Festival\, Mitchell Creek Rock & Blues Festival and many more.

All that’s left to do is play the songs we all love to get into. \nMandy (Barnett) Dobney: Singer-songwriter. \nMandy started her professional singing career at the age of fifteen in Coffs Harbour/Grafton with bands called ” Doo Wah Diddy ” and “Chiquee Babes”. Leaving Coffs at 22\, I joined a 6-piece group called “Electric”\, travelling throughout Singapore\, Malaysia\, Indonesia and Beijing for 9 months. Other countries her singing has taken her to are Hong Kong\, Thailand\, Scotland\, London and 8 years in Japan at Hilton and Sheraton Hotels. Whilst in London\, Mandy recorded BVs and a duet on Mickey Graham’s (from Boyzone) album. Meeting many interesting people and writing with them\, entered into and won!! The UK’s hottest unsigned band with the song “Big Trip” in 2001. Now living happily back in Australia with Husband Michael in their new outfit called “Who’s Charlie”. \nMichael Dobney: Piano- Keyboards- Singer-songwriter \nMichael has been playing piano since the age of seven\, studying classical\, jazz and numerous other styles. Also having had experience in theatre\, stage\, MC hosting and numerous bands over the years\, Michael’s professional musical life has been a successful one. Holding a residency at Brisbane’s Treasury Casino for three years\, six nights a week\, with Australia’s first “Duelling Pianos”. He then took his talents abroad to Japan for 8 years\, performing 6 nights a week at Hilton Hotels and Sheraton Hotels. Producing all of “Who’s Charlie” backing tracks with superb quality\, he has moulded a solid sound… combined with his unique style as a pianist/vocalist\, you won’t be disappointed when you watch it all come to life.
