GLYCERINE

Glycerine are a five-piece alternative rock band from Newcastle, NSW, proving that big sound has nothing to do with age. Formed in early 2026 by five high school mates aged just 13 and 14, the band has quickly established itself as one of the region’s most exciting young live acts.

Drawing inspiration from the raw power of 90s and early 2000s rock, Glycerine channel influences including Silverchair, Incubus, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam and Red Hot Chili Peppers into a sound that feels nostalgic while remaining distinctly their own. Driving guitar riffs, soaring vocals, tight musicianship and an infectious stage presence have become hallmarks of their live shows.

In just a matter of months, Glycerine have become regular performers across Newcastle’s live music scene, appearing at hotels, clubs, festivals and community events while building an enthusiastic and rapidly growing fan base. Their high-energy performances and ability to draw a crowd have earned them a reputation well beyond what most would expect from musicians their age.

Their momentum continues to build, with Glycerine taking out first place in a Central Coast Battle of the Bands competition and earning an invitation to perform at the East Coast Battle of the Bands at the Hoey Moey in Coffs Harbour. They have also secured a spot at West Best Bloc Fest, adding another major festival appearance to their growing live calendar.

Alongside their busy performance schedule, Glycerine are establishing themselves as an original act, recently recording four debut singles, Drown, Inside Out, Sore and End of the World, with their first releases set to arrive in the coming months.

With powerful performances, genuine chemistry and a work ethic that rivals bands well beyond their years, Glycerine are quickly becoming one of the Hunter region’s most exciting emerging rock acts. This is a young band with serious momentum, and they are only getting started.
