Carly Mackerras started singing around the house as a toddler, and just wouldn’t stop. Luckily, this wasn’t a problem as her dad, Roo, is a professional musician, and this was music to his ears. So she sang whenever possible and learned to play guitar, piano, violin and drums.
After she finished high school, she asked her dad to help her start gigging, and he jumped at the chance. They did over 300 professional gigs as an acoustic duo, and then Carly ventured out on her own.
In the last 2 years, Carly moved to Banff, Canada, won the local Battle of the Bands single-handedly (playing covers and one original song each heat), and before too long, she was the most sought-after acoustic soloist in the area.
At only 26, Carly has become a wonderful & alluring singer/entertainer, and she has amassed a large repertoire of all-time favourites and cool funky tunes. She is now home in Australia again, so don’t miss her at a venue near you.
