FLYING GIANT

Flying Giant are an exciting up-and-coming independent progressive rock band on the Mid-North Coast.

The band has a dynamic and diverse sound, exploring the soundscapes of rock, grunge, and metal to create an immersive experience with unique arrangements. The songs hit harder than you’d expect from a four-piece, but lean heavily into the nuances of harmony, featuring soaring vocals and intricately layered guitars. Their music is catchy yet deceptively complex, with its mind-bending time signatures, delivered by a powerful and pulsating rhythm section. The band brings a new sound into the mix, especially with Chris’ unique voice, but will sit well with fans of bands like Silverchair, Tool, Karnivool, Cog, and The Butterfly Effect.

Forming in 2011, this group of perfectionists have been honing their craft, releasing their debut EP in 2014, which was met with a great reception, transforming the Hoey Moey into a packed-out stadium experience. In their time, the band has topped local music store charts, seen consistent radio play, and performed at the Vans Warped Tour. They’ve supported bands such as Kingswood, Twelve Foot Ninja, Oosure in Moscow, Jerricho, as well as performing at the Wallapalooza and Hell on High Water festivals. Recently, they were featured in the Coffs Coast Focus Mag in anticipation of their upcoming release.

For this new batch of music, they have once again partnered up with the talented Tyson Fish as producer, known for his work with artists such as Mammal, Vance Joy, and The Khyber Belt. With every release, they have taken their time to perfect their music and release it on their own time, valuing quality over quantity. The tracks were recorded at both The Grove Studios and The Alamo, proving to be an exciting evolution and maturity of their sound. This year will be marked with several single releases accompanied by music videos and live tours, with a full-length release in the future.

JACANA

Jacana are the freshly hatched alternative rock band from Repton, NSW.
Youth star guitarist brothers Leo and Reuben Drage line up with drummer Joe Drage in a lively father and sons trio.
Their energetic originals feature raw guitar, electrifying solos, catchy lyrics and upbeat excitement. Inspired by a wide range of blues rock and indie greats like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Arctic Monkeys and Gang of Youths, Jacana are filling venues with their fresh energy.
