Afi James; A breath of fresh air, a one man funky sound junky, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer. Creating sonic waves strictly for the love of music and self-expression.
Rasta Bushman is based in the hills of Gumbaynggirr country, and his music reflects his life. Fun, steady, raw, soulful and fiery. A rich blend of roots, reggae, dub, hip-hop and jazz.
Afi’s unique style was born out of street performing while hitchhiking around Australia, he plays with an intense passion and purpose but with a lightheartedness that creates a good vibration and warms the spirit.
Over the last decade, Afi’s music has developed from acoustic singing and songwriting to a multi-instrumental performance. Using a loop station, guitars, didgeridoo, samples and drums, Afi creates multi-layered sound journeys and rhythmic beats for his rich poetic chants to ride on. Whether it’s a soulful ballad for a rainy day or some heavy dub with a big bass line, Afi has the right sound for the right moment.
