The Moving Stills will be playing live at the Hoey Moey on Saturday, 4 February, from 7pm with free entry!  They will be supported by Temperate and Purple Disturbance.

The Moving Stills wade through surf flavours with pop melodies that soothe and stick. The Central Coast based band write tracks that shoot through the barrel of a wave and spit out the back onto a 67’ Holden Ute. Gliding through a dance floor and stumbling onto a sweaty indie mosh pit with a bit of charm.

Known for their Alt-Pop Coastal sound, they’ve quickly established themselves as a band that’ll stick around. In 2020, they made more music then ever and took a COVID enforced break from touring. Releasing singles, ‘Your Standards’ and ‘Bad’ and racked up some streaming Editorial support. They also wrote and recorded an album’s worth of songs that became their debut album, ‘Sunshine Corner’. A blissful alt-pop rock album that dives into a pool of nostalgic surf flavours and synth swirls that ripples through the air. Working with longtime collaborator Dylan Adam’s (CLEWS, DMA’s, West Thebarton) who peppered his secret sauce on the album. The band says, “We’ve always written songs based on our experiences and stories we know. In a way, ‘Sunshine Corner’ is a coming of age album filled with stories of emotional struggles, self-realisations and reflections, heartbreak and the lessons learnt along the way. Hopefully some of our experiences connect with the people listening to it.”

The Moving Stills have had a year of it. They released their debut album ‘Sunshine Corner’ in Jan, then toured with a bunch of upcoming legends including Spacey Jane, Great Gable, Shag Rock and The Vanns. Along the way they accumulated hours and kms on the road and in the van. They also sold out a bunch of their own headline shows up and down the East Coast and became an accidental viral hit with their Tik Tok video covering Tears For Fears’ ‘Everybody Wants To Rule The World’. Album 2 is already on the way – and we’re hearing the singles now.
